Appna Khaana

A cooking project for young people


This pioneering project funded by Youth Opportunity Fund, invited youngsters between the ages of 11-19 years to change their cooking habits by ditching deep and shallow frying, in favour of baking and steaming foods. As well as the workshops, fifty local participants were able to have hands-on experience of cooking various healthy recipes from a purpose built recently renovated modern kitchen. Participants put their culinary skills to the test with Mexican, Italian and English cuisines.  A competition was held at the end for the two ‘Best Young Chef’  results were announced at an award ceremony.  This project was delivered in  partnership with SEDI (Social Enterprise Development Initiative) Ltd.
